Suw's pledge got me thinking about this remarkable young lady. One of my favorite parts in the Bill and Ted's excellent adventure is where they get Beethoven from the past and he ends up in a shopping mall playing music on synthesizers.
What if we could bring back Ada Lovelace and let her loose on a modern supercomputer?
Another favorite lady in technology would have to be Susan Kare, the creator of many of the Macintosh items I hold dear, in fact her smiling Mac was what got me interested in computers.
I do not own a car but instead cycle or take the bus. This weekend I did my annual spring gardening where I cut the hedge, cut the grass and pull out weeds, seeing we have had a warm and rainy spring there were a lot of weeds so it produced 7 bags of the stuff which I neatly placed outside for collection this morning only to discover that Richmond upon Thames council does NOT take garden waste...
A quick call to Richmond upon Thames council revealed to me that I have 2 options.
1. register as a volume garden waste person, buy special bags or a huge green container and have it collected in a month from now.
2. somehow cycle with 7 huge bin bags to my nearest recycle center, a whopping 40 min cycle ride away.
I asked the guy on the phone what other options I might have but there were none, very 'green' thinking Richmond council.
Scobleizer just blogged on the possibility of Microsoft buying both Yahoo and Facebook, no idea if this is true but if it is we are in deep shit. Yes I'm a Mac fanboy but that does not mean I dislike Microsoft for no good reason! Microsoft has a deserved reputation for eating up various technologies, companies and people by either buying them or crushing them by selling the Microsoft version of whatever these people have on offer for much less, something they can easily do because of their market dominance. I believe that is called exploiting your monopoly on the market but no court so far has done anything real about that so maybe I'm just seeing things.
Anyways, I get of track. Microsoft owning the web (they will with Yahoo, Facebook, their market dominance and their bank balance) is a SUPER bad thing.
The below video sums things up real nice, please spread the word...
I do mostly emailing, websurfingm chat and a tad of html coding on my MacBook, do I need dual 2ghz for that?
I think not so I installed CoolBookController written by a Swedish guy called Magnus Lundholm (who charges fellow Europeans 25% tax) and I'm most pleased! Using my MacBook running at 1ghz I have not noticed any annoying slowdowns yet my machine never got over 43c, bit of a difference from the normal 70c plus.

I can not imagine a bigger pest on the internet right now.... Ok, maybe that troll John Dvorak :P
Just did a clean install of Mac OSX 10.5 on my MacBook and wanted to see if Ecto is happy in it's new sparkly fast home.
