The state of spam

I'm helping a friend out setting up a weblog on a new hosting account he has, we forgot to enable the spamassasin and were only alerted by a system message saying the hard drive was full. We received well over 3000 emails a DAY for 2 months, ALL spam.

I can not imagine a bigger pest on the internet right now.... Ok, maybe that troll John Dvorak :P
