How much power does one need?

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

I do mostly emailing, websurfingm chat and a tad of html coding on my MacBook, do I need dual 2ghz for that?

I think not so I installed CoolBookController written by a Swedish guy called Magnus Lundholm (who charges fellow Europeans 25% tax) and I'm most pleased! Using my MacBook running at 1ghz I have not noticed any annoying slowdowns yet my machine never got over 43c, bit of a difference from the normal 70c plus.

SGI O2, long time dream!

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
I have always wanted to own a SGI system, ever since I went to the opening of the Dutch SGI offices and was blown away by these solid designer pieces of raw computing power. Imagine my joy when I won one on eBay located a 10 min bike ride from my house for 99p! After dismantling and cleaning I now have a fresh SGI O2 purring away under my office desk! Another thing I can tick off my list of things to do ^_^
